Fostering the agtech industry in North Caroline
The Research Triangle AgTech Cluster works to connect industry, academia, and government organizations who are solving the world’s most pressing agriculture issues.

Why Agtech and The Research Triangle Region?
North Carolina is one of the most diversified agriculture states in the nation. Our combination of strong, historical farming and a progressive STEM workforce make the region a unique and powerful Agtech market.
In the region, international organizations and world leaders employ 74% of North Carolina’s AgTech workforce. AgTech giants such as BASF, Syngenta, NuFarm, Fair Products, Avazyme, and Indigo, each employ more than 1,000 employees. These diverse companies explore plant and animal health, precision farming, environmental remediation, and human medicine. There is a continuing emergence of new technologies.
Entrepreneurs and startups have the opportunity and resources to thrive here too. The AgTech cluster provides venture capital funding, available co-working real estate, and innovative incubators. Our location and quality of life provides the foundation for a smooth transition and a growing business. Thriving agribusiness and the Triangle Region’s innovative technical resources continue to drive new research and development to create a primed environment for the growing Agtech industry.
